A92 Dundee to Arbroath Roadworks

Elliot

Elliot Bridge is now open in both directions to road users and to pedestrians. Both east and west approaches have been completed with minor works to still be done. Also at Elliot the new roundabout is open to road users, providing access to the golf course and properties adjacent to the old A92.

Hatton Road

Hatton Road is now open to all traffic. Regular road users will notice that access to the A92 is now not possible from the C61 Scryne Road. Access to the A92 is now via the grade separated junction at Salmondsmuir. There has been a change of priorities at Hatton Road/Scryne Road junction, where vehicles on Scryne Road must now give way to those on Hatton Road.

A930 Carlogie Road

There has been extensive works at this location to construct a new grade separated junction, Muirdrum Bypass and a realigned section of Carlogie Road towards Carnoustie. The realigned section of Carlogie Road has been raised considerably from its former level so that the new A92 dual carriageway may pass underneath it as it bypasses the village of Muirdrum which regular users of this road will have seen from Muirdrum Bridge since Carlogie Road opened in February.

Upper Victoria to Monikie

The C1 is partially open to traffic at the moment on the north side of the A92 and access to the A92 is via the grade separated junction slip road. This is a temporary measure until works are complete and the grade-separated junction is fully operational.

Access directly to Carnoustie is not readily available at the moment via the underpass although access is available via a diversion. The underpass cannot be completed until traffic is moved from the temporary diversion around the underpass back on to the main carriageway. This will commence in the near future.

Barry Bypass

Barry Bypass is aimed at reducing traffic flow through Barry. The section between the C2 at Station Road, Barry and the existing A930 at Cotside has been opened to traffic to access Station Road (south of the bypass), Barry Buddon Camp and Panmure Golf Club. The section of Station Road between the existing A930 Main Street and the new Barry Bypass will remain permanently closed to vehicular traffic. Barry Bridge is now complete and ready for being road surfaced. Work has recently started on the eastern part of the bypass between the bridge and McDonald Smith Drive.

Ardestie

The B962 (Newbigging Road) north of Mains of Ardestie will be closed for a number of weeks to allow the remaining work to be carried out on the underpass and surrounding roadworks/surfacing to be completed. Again some of the works cannot be done until the current traffic diversion is directed back onto the main carriageway across the new underpass.

West Grange Road/Ethiebeaton

Regular road users will notice a switch of traffic has taken place recently. Traffic has been diverted from the existing carriageway at the Balgillo Road East roundabout and onto the new carriageway between Balgillo Road East and Ardownie. Access to Ethiebeaton Park is temporarily via the new roundabout at West Grange Road and the new link road to Kingennie. This is due to the existing roundabout at Victoria Street being closed to construct the new, larger, roundabout at this junction.

Panmurefield - Claypotts

All services works (water, gas, electricity, telecoms, etc.) have been completed and work on the carriageways has begun. Final road surfacing has started on parts of the carriageway at this section, with traffic now utilising the new eastbound carriageway to allow the westbound carriageway to be completed.

Roundabouts

New roundabouts have been included in the upgrading project, most notably at Elliot, Balgillo Road East and West Grange Road. In addition the roundabout at Ethiebeaton Park will be altered in position and increased in size to accommodate the new dual carriageway.

All of the roundabouts, except Ethiebeaton Park, are in place and operational, although some work is still to be carried out on each roundabout, mainly the black and white blockwork chevrons around the central islands.
