| Foster Carer | Angus Council are recruiting Foster Carers to look after children and young people aged 0-18 years. Foster care is a way of providing a family life for children who cannot live with their own parents. Foster care is often used to provide temporary care while parents get help sorting out problems, or to help children or young people through a difficult period in their lives. Often children will return home once the problems that caused them to come into foster care have been resolved and it is clear that their parents are able to look after them safely. Others may stay in long-term foster care, some may be adopted, and others will move on to live independently.
The very basic criteria to become an Angus Foster Carer are:
Beyond these basic requirements, our application and assessment process is very individual to the household. You will receive advice and guidance from the team all along the way. Once approved, you will receive continuous training and support that you need to develop your skills as a foster carer.

Foster care isn't all about giving - you can get so much out of the experience - one that can enrich the lives of everyone close to you. You will be making a difference to a child's life - often seeing their confidence and self esteem grow. Financial Rewards Angus Council have a system is in place to give foster carers more recognition and payment for the professional job they do.
As an example, a carer approved to take two children aged 8 and 13 receive the following allowances; Level 1 carer receives up to £30,000, a Level 2 carer receives up to £33,000 and a Level 3 carer receives up to £40,000. You can foster:
