Leisure Services
The role of this service is to:
- Introduce, maintain and develop leisure opportunities for all
- Provide the highest possible quality of leisure and recreational facilities/areas for all users irrespective of age, ability or gender
- Provide a comprehensive book and information service through full-time, part-time and mobile libraries
- Exhibit, conserve and preserve artifacts relating to Angus Museums
- Conserve manuscript, archive and printed records relating to Angus Archives and local history
- Manage and operate three country parks
- Maintain parks, outdoor facilities/areas, public open space, burial grounds and war memorials
- Undertake environmental improvements, in partnership with others, to benefit the community and underpin the infrastructure for tourism and economic development
- Offer a sports development service to support sports clubs and organisations, individuals, Angus Sports Council and Tayside Sports Development Group
- Promote a wide range of cultural events and activities through the arts & events unit, halls and theatres
- Provide a comprehensive library and resources service to Angus schools educational resources unit.
