Following the implementation of new legislation in the form of the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000, the Council has adopted a Race Equality Scheme, which complements our commitment to providing equality of opportunity in service delivery and employment.
Race equality will now underpin all aspects of the work of the Council, and the Race Equality Scheme will help us provide fair, culturally sensitive and accessible services, and advance equality issues in employment so that our workforce reflects the diversity of the community.
