Search Addresses
To search for a property, type an address or part of an address in the search box. A list of matches will be returned with links to View Map and View Report.
Click on View Report to view information about the area including school catchments and recycling collection dates.
MyLocation
This area shows reports generated about the services specific to a particular location or address.
- Use the Generate Report tool above the map to create a report for that particular location; or
- Select an address using the Search tab or on the map to initiate a report for particular address
You can move around the map in a number of ways: you can zoom in, zoom out and pan (shift the map around)
Zoom In (Enlarge the map)
- Left mouse click on the 'Map' tab at the top of the page
- If you have a mouse wheel you can hover the cursor over the image and spin the wheel to zoom in (or out)
- In the Map window, click the "+" symbol
- Move the scale slider by selecting the slider with the mouse cursor, holding a left click and moving towards the top of the page
- With the cursor in the map window, drag a box to zoom to by depressing shift, holding a left mouse click whilst moving the mouse. Unclick to zoom to the box.
Zoom Out (Shrink the map)
- Left mouse click on the 'Map' tab at the top of the page
- If you have a mouse wheel you can hover the cursor over the image and spin the wheel to zoom in (or out)
- In the Map window, click the "-" symbol
- Move the scale slider by selecting the slider with the mouse cursor, holding a left click and moving towards the bottom of the page
Pan
- Left mouse click on the 'Map' tab at the top of the page
- With the cursor in the map window, left mouse click and hold. This grabs the map.
- Keeping the left mouse button clicked, move the cursor to move the map.
- Unclick to view the map in it's new location.
Address searching
- Click on the 'Search' tab at the top of the map window
- You will be presented with a text box and a button labelled, 'Search'
- Type an address or part address into the text box. You can type in:
- Postcode
- Street Name
- House Name
- Part postcode, names or streets
- A table of addresses will be presented if the search was successful, a maximum of 200 results are presented
- To view the address on the map, click the 'View on Map' link
Adding maps
- Left mouse click on the 'Map' tab at the top of the page
- In the 'Show Layers' section of the map controls
- Click on the '+' symbol next to a section heading, e.g. 'Waste and Recycling'
- Click the checkbox next to the map you want to make visible, e.g. 'Recycle centre points'
- When a check is visible next to the map layer the map will be drawn
- The map will be visible on top of the background mapping within the map window
Removing maps
- Left mouse click on the 'Map' tab at the top of the page
- In the 'Show Layers' section of the map controls
- Click on the '+' symbol next to a section heading, e.g. 'Waste and Recycling' to reveal the maps available
- Click the checkbox next to the map you want to remove, e.g. 'Recycle centre points'
- The check should be removed and the map window will refresh without the map layer
- The map should be visible on the screen on top of the background mapping
Interrogating the map
You can find out more information about the information on the map by tool tips and clicking on a feature.
- From the 'active map' section of the Map Tools choose the map layer you are interested in (the list is made up of the layers that are visible, see the help on adding Map above.
- To view information about layers
- Hover the cursor over the map and a tool tip displaying basic information will appear
- Clicking once with the left mouse button, more detailed information will appear on screen
To print a map
- Click on the printer image at the top of the 'Map Tools' pane
- A new window will with the map, title and scale information
- Use the browser print functions to print a map
