Citizens Panel Survey - Roads

Start Date :March 2012
End Date :March 2012

Have Your Say

The latest citizen panel survey has now been sent to panel members. The survey is in two parts, the first part gathers views on the Angus roads network and the second part asks about any direct contact with the Council about roads issues.

Angus Council is responsible for nearly 1,800km (1,100 miles) of roads; 800km of footways; 21,000 street lights and nearly 300 bridges within the council area. The council is not responsible for trunk roads such as the A90 in Angus.

The council allocates an annual budget for roads which is used for all roads maintenance and street lighting activities. This includes pothole repairs; resurfacing; drainage repairs; grass cutting and winter services. The council spends some £1.3million per annum on pothole/patching repairs and around £2.5million per annum on winter services. Our electricity costs for street lighting is around £800,000 per annum. We spent £5.6million last year resurfacing roads and £1.3million renewing street lighting.
