The Dalhousie Bar

The Dalhousie Bar at the corner of Market St. and St David's Street, to the northern edge of the townscape heritage initiative grant eligible area.

Merchant's House

The "Merchant's House" to west side of High Street, near to the Mill steps. The building has lain empty for several years and the original roof has been replaced by asbestos sheeting. This is one of the priority buildings within the Townscape Heritage Scheme.

The Town Museum

The Town Museum, which has an elegant bellcote and Venetian window above a traditional Victorian shop front, will be extended to the rear and upper floor as part of the Townscape Heritage Initiative. The refurbishment will include restoration of the vacant two storey rear building (2-4 Church Street). This will include the reversal of previous external door and window alterations at ground floor level. These are of poor and inappropriate design and quality and will restore the external elevation in accordance with historical archive information.

45-47 High Street

Gable ended 18th century 3 storey buildings with attic floors, with boarded up shop fronts to numbers 45-47 High Street. These buildings have been identified as priority projects within the townscape heritage initiative.
