Project Progress Update - March 2011
High Street Projects
Works commenced on three priority project buildings in late 2010. Since then, works on a number of the remaining buildings have commenced.
The buildings are as follows:
- 33 High Street - Building Repairs.
- 39 to 41 High Street - Building repairs to exterior of the two buildings.
- 45 to 47 High Street - Vacant Property Refurbishment - Work is being undertaken in two phases, beginning with roof repairs and is anticipated to be completed by November 2011. This building project is part funded through the Scottish Government Town Centre Regeneration Fund.
- 29-33 High Street - Vacant Property Restoration - This is a year long contract and essential structural work has now commenced. The rear of the building requires underpinning which has had a knock on effect to works at 25-27 High Street which will be delayed until the underpinning has been completed.
- 68-72 High Street (Merchant's House) - Works are on site, due for completion early 2012.
In addition to the priority Projects, grants have been awarded for building repair works to two further High Street properties. Work is currently on site at 51-55 High Street.
