About the Council
Angus Council has 29 councillors, made up of 13 SNP, 6 Independent, 5 Conservative, 3 LibDem and 2 Labour.
At the statutory meeting of the Council on 22 May 2007, 5 of the Independents and all the LibDem, Conservative and Labour councillors formed a coalition administration under the name "the Angus Alliance Group".
Members of the Angus Alliance Group hold all the Convener and Vice Convener posts of the Council's committees.
