Review of Community Council Scheme
Introduction
At its meeting on 24 August 2000, Angus Council approved the finalised Scheme for Establishment of Community Councils (also known as the Community Council Scheme). There were two stages to the review. The first was to amalgamate the former City of Dundee and Angus Council Schemes into one Angus Scheme.
The second phase of the review was to consider changes in the boundaries; revision of the content of the Scheme to ensure that it reflected more appropriately the relationship between the Council and Community Councils; and revision of the Scheme to ensure that Community Councils might work more effectively.
In September 2007, Angus Council agreed that it would be appropriate to undertake a review of the Scheme to consider the amendment of community council boundaries, in light of the introduction of multi-member wards in May 2007. Also, the Council recognised that it was time to look at the whole Scheme given the last review was completed in 2000 (Committee Report 855/07 (65 KB PDF)
