Grant Assistance
Over the years the Conservation Team has had a budget allocation to provide grant assistance to listed buildings requiring repair work. This has been part funded through Town Scheme Grants from Historic Scotland.
Town Schemes have successfully run in Forfar, Montrose, Arbroath and Kirriemuir. They have seen the repair or replacement of scots slate roofs, sash and case windows and decorative stonework repair.
At present there are no Town Schemes in Angus but Angus Council's conservation team will continue to assess grant applications for listed buildings on a case by case basis.
A grant award does not however cover works which are deemed as general maintenance as this work is required regardless of whether a building is listed or not.
