Community Council Elections 2010

The Community Councils in Angus work with Angus Council and other public bodies to ascertain, co-ordinate and express the view of the community they represent.

Community Councillors play an important role in promoting the views of the communities they represent and informing local people about issues of public concern.

Elections for Community Council members are held every 4 years and the electoral process is due to commence in September this year. Standing for election is a simple process. To be eligible you must be 16 years of age, reside within the community council area and be named on the electoral register for the area for which you are nominated.

If after the close of nominations there are more nominations received than the maximum membership permitted for a Community Council, a poll will require to held.
