16 To 18 Year Olds
Angus Council is committed to encouraging younger members of the community to get more involved in their local Community Council.
HOWEVER, to be part of a Community Council and work with us and other public bodies to ascertain, co-ordinate and express the views of the community it represents you MUST be on the Community Council Electoral Roll.
For the 2010 Community Council elections, Angus Council is required to produce an Electoral Roll for 16 to 18 year olds. You must be on this register if you wish to:
- Stand for election as a member of a Community Council; and
- Vote at contested Community Council elections
If you wish to have your details added to the electoral register for Community Council elections please complete a Community Council Electoral Register Application Form (96 KB PDF) and send it to The Returning Officer, Angus House, Orchardbank Business Park, Forfar, DD8 1AN. The closing date for applications is 5.00 pm on Monday 27 September 2010.
Please note that completion of this application form allows you to register to vote at Community Council elections only. If you wish further information on registering to vote at other elections please contact the Electoral Registration Officer on 01307 462416.
