Postal Voting
Anyone can apply to vote by post - it does not matter where you live or whether you are able to get to a polling station.
As long as you are registered to vote, or have applied for registration, you can choose to vote by post.
You can apply to vote by post for a particular election, for a set period of time or for all future elections.
A postal vote application form can be downloaded from www.aboutmyvote.co.uk and once completed, should be sent to:
The Electoral Registration Officer
Tayside Valuation Joint Board
Ravenswood
New Road
Forfar
DD8 2ZA
T: 01307 462416
E: angus@tayside-vjb.gov.uk
The deadline to request a new postal vote, or to change or cancel an existing postal vote for the European Parliamentary Election is Tuesday 19 May 2009.
The first issue of postal voting papers will take place approximately two weeks before the election. If you are going to be on holiday around that time, you may wish to consider having your postal vote redirected to another address or you could consider voting by proxy. An application to vote by proxy can also be downloaded from www.aboutmyvote.co.uk and should also be returned to the Electoral Registration Office as detailed above.
