Election Timetable
The following timetable details key dates for the European Parliamentary Election to be held on 4 June 2009:

| Delivery of Nomination Papers to Regional Returning Officer | Between the hours of 10am and 4pm on any working day after publication of the notice of election |
| Deadline for delivery of nomination papers to the Regional Returning Officer | Not later than 4pm on Thursday 7 May |
| Deadline to make objections to nominations | Not later than Noon on Thursday 7 May for nominations delivered up to and including Wednesday 6 May. Not later than 5pm for those delivered on Thursday 7 May |
| Deadline for withdrawals of nomination | Not later than 4pm on Thursday 7 May |
| Publish statement as to parties and individual candidates nominated/notice of poll/notice of situation of polling stations | Not later than 5pm on Thursday 7 May (if no objections are made). Not later than 4pm on Friday 8 May (if objections are made) |
| Deadline for notice of appointment of election agents | Not later than 4pm on Thursday 7 May |
| Last day to be included on the register of electors to be used at these elections | Tuesday 19 May |
