Candidates for Scottish Parliament Election
A Scottish Parliamentary election will take place on Thursday 5 May 2011. Voting will take place between 7.00am and 10pm. Eligible voters can check the location of their polling place on the Where to Vote page.
Nominations
The Returning Officer can accept nominations on any week day after the publication of the Notice of Election. Nominations for those who wish to stand in Angus North & Mearns and Angus South constituencies must be received by the Constituency Returning Officer no later than 4.00pm on Tuesday 29 March 2011.
Nomination papers can be obtained from the Constituency Returning Officer, Angus House, Orchardbank Business Park, Forfar on any week day between 10am and 4.00pm. Alternatively, they can be downloaded from www.electoralcommission.org.uk along with a number of guidance documents for prospective candidates.
Briefing sessions for candidates and their agents will take place in due course. However any prospective candidate or their agent wishing further information in the interim should contact the Election Team on 01307 476060 or alternatively email cameronsd@angus.gov.uk.
