Proxy Voting

If you are registered to vote but canít vote in person, you can apply to vote by proxy. That means someone else votes on your behalf.

You can apply for a proxy vote for a particular election, for a set period of time or for all future elections.

You have to provide a reason for needing a proxy vote. For example, maybe you canít get to the polling station on election day because:

The deadline to request a new proxy vote (not postal proxy) for these elections is 5pm on Thursday 21 April 2011 (except on grounds of a medical emergency, where an application can be made at a later date on production of a medical certificate.)

The deadline to change or cancel an existing proxy appointment is 5pm on Thursday 14 April 2011.

The deadline to apply for a new postal proxy is 5pm on Thursday 14 April 2011.
