Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places
Section 18(C)1 of the Representation of the People Act 1983 places a duty on local authorities to review the UK Parliamentary polling districts, polling places and polling stations in their area at least once every four years. The Council’s first full review under this legislation was completed in 2007.
The second review is due to commence on 1 July 2011 and the Council would welcome representations from any person or body on both the Council’s proposals and on the Returning Officer’s comments which will be published in line with the timetable below. The Council would particularly welcome representations from any person or body with expertise in access for persons with any type of disability.
The timetable for the review will be as follows:

| 29 July 2011 | Closing date for initial comments on the existing polling scheme |
| 29 August 2011 | Publication of Council’s draft proposals and Returning Officer’s comments |
| 23 September 2011 | Closing date for representations on draft proposals |
| 3 November 2011 | Final proposals submitted to Angus Council |
| 30 November 2011 | Publication of outcome of Review |

The second statutory review of Polling Districts and Polling Places within the Angus Local Government Area has now been completed and the recommendations approved by Angus Council on 3 November 2011.
Copies of the Returning Officer's final proposals showing the recommendations approved are now available for public inspection in main Council Offices, Public Libraries and ACCESS Offices or can be downloaded below.
Following the conclusion of the Review, individuals have the right to make representations to the Electoral Commission regarding the designation of polling districts and polling places in Angus.
