Election Timetable

This table details the statutory events following the announcement of a UK Parliamentary Election. Please note that the timetable will be updated once the election has been called.

Issue of Writ/Proclamation to dissolve Parliament -17
Receipt of Writ -17 or -16
Notice of Election to be published Not later than 4pm 2 days after receipt of writ
Delivery of Nomination Papers to Returning Officer Between the hours of 10am and 4pm on any working day after publication of the Notice of Election
Deadline for delivery of nomination papers to the Returning Officer Not later than 4pm on -11
Deadline for withdrawals of nomination Not later than 4pm on -11
Publish statement as to persons nominated/notice of poll/notice of situation of polling stations

Not later than 4pm on -11 if no objections are received)

Last day to submit a registration application form to be included on the register of electors to be able to vote at the election -11
