Help and advice for organisations and businesses
Planning a safe event
A great deal of planning and organisation is required to run an event safely, legally, and successfully; the responsibility for all aspects of the event is with the event organisers.
The Angus Safe Events Team, whose membership includes the emergency services, relevant council services and voluntary agencies, is there to provide invaluable help and advice to event organisers with regard to planning a safe and legal event.
If you are planning an event you should contact the team as soon as possible by contacting ACCESSLine on 0845 777 778.
Angus Council in collaboration with partner organisations such as the Police and Fire & Rescue, have produced a pack Your Guide to Safe & Legal Events (1.5 MB PDF)
which contains information to assist event organisers with licensing, regulations, important contact information, health and safety, risk assessment. The pack can also be accessed by contacting ACCESSLine on 0845 777 778 to get a safe events pack sent to you.
Other useful documents include:
- Social Responsibility Standards for the Production and Sale of Alcoholic Drinks: Scotland (EventScotland version)

- Organising Accessible Events (2 MB PDF)
