Angus Archives

Free Scotland's People Taster Sessions

Scotland's People

Angus Archives will be offering a number of free Scotland's People taster sessions during the coming months. The first one will be on 4 June 2009. Scotland's People is the premier Scottish genealogy website, offering access to birth, marriage and death information, and to the census records of 1841-1901. The Archive sessions will offer a brief introduction to post 1855 birth, marriage and death certificates, and will use 20 credits of vouchers, showing how to find the different types of certificates, and why they are useful. These sessions are free. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to explore further family history resources available in Angus Archives, including poor relief registers, photographs, Valuation Rolls and other original material. Refreshments will also be available.

The dates available are:

Thursday 4th June
Thursday 18 June
Thursday 6th August
Thursday 20 August
Thursday 3rd September

Places are very limited, and booked is essential to avoid disappointment. Please contact Angus Archives on 01307 468644, or email angus.archives@angus.gov.uk to book a place.
