Angus Archives Search Room Regulations
Prior to your visit please
Make an appointment and book a seat at least 1 week in advance.
You may order a maximum of 5 items from the store per visit
We will contact you to confirm that your research places has been reserved and that your order has been processed
Upon arrival at the Archives please note that
All coats should be left at the coat stand and bags must be deposited in the lockers provided. All notes, pencils and keys etc may be taken into the search room in the clear plastic wallets provided.
Mobile phones must be switched off
No eating or drinking in the search room.
Only 1 item can be produced at a time for each user, i.e. volume, bundle or item.
A consultation slip must be completed by the researcher and signed for each item requested before it will be produced.
PENCILS ONLY - biros etc are forbidden
We will produce a transcription of an item if we have it in the first instance.
We will not produce items marked Too Fragile For Production e.g. stiff vellum charters, damaged items etc.
We will not produce material that comes under the Data Protection Act without the proper procedure being followed.
Photocopies may be obtained at the discretion of the Archivist. Please ask at the Reception Desk for assistance. Standard charges apply
No item can be removed from the Archives for consultation.
