Fun in Athletics is designed to give children an introduction to athletics through lots of fun track and field events in a team-based environment and around 750 Angus youngsters have taken part across the 6 heats.

The Fun in Athletics programme has been organised as a partnership between Angus Council Sports Development Team, Active Schools and Angus College who provided students to assist with the festivals. The students from Angus College are currently attending the Intro to Sport course and completed a training course to deliver the events within the festival with the Angus Sports Development Team and have gained valuable experience from the events.

Angus secondary schools including Brechin High School & Monifieth High School were also involved in delivering the respective events. Senior pupils who are going through the Sports Leader qualification took part in some basic training to give them the ability to be involved in leading the events.
