Monikie and Crombie
Monikie Angling Club provides Fly Fishing for stocked Brown and Rainbow Trout within Monikie and Crombie Country Parks. The Club has 21 boats to let for both members of Monikie Angling Club and visitors.
In Monikie Country Park fishing is available on Island Pond for both brown and rainbow trout. On North Pond the fishing is for rainbow trout only whilst the fishing at Crombie Country Park is for brown trout only.
Last season fish from Island Pond averaged 1lb 14ozs, North Pond averaged 2lb. The largest fish was caught by a member and weighed 10lb 4ozs. At Crombie the average was 1lb 3oz.
The fishing season starts on 16th March 2011 (14th March 2012) to 12th November at Monikie and runs from 16th March (14th March 2012) to 5th October 2011 at Crombie. The cost of boat hire (2011) for a 12 fish limit is as follows:
- £21.00 per session one or two OAP members
- £24.00 per session one or two members
- £26.00 per session for a member and a guest
- £30.00 per session for club booking
- £34.00 per session for one or two visitors
- £16.00 per session for one member (6 fish limit)
- £22.00 per session for one visitor (6 fish limit)
Bookings can only be made by telephoning the Duty Bailiff throughout the fishing season at the following times:
- 9.00 until 10.30am
- 1.00 until 1.30pm
- 5.30 until 6.30pm
