Roll of Honour
Angus Sports Council are calling on the local Angus community to turn out in force and celebrate the sporting stars of Angus as they step into the spotlight for their annual sports awards ceremony. The Angus Sports Awards 2008 ceremony is taking place at the Reid Hall, Forfar on Tuesday 10th March 2009 - 6.30 for 7.00pm and tickets are available now.
Angus Sports Council are honouring the commitment, achievements and dedication of individuals and teams involved in sport across Angus during 2008. Angus Council Sports Development Team along with Angus Ahead, the area marketing campaign set up to fly the flag for the county at home and abroad, are supporting the Angus Sports Awards 2008.
The Roll of Honour for the Angus Sports Awards 2008 is as follows:
Sports Personality of the Year sponsored by Angus Council
This award aims to recognise the achievements of a top sports performer in 2008. This includes performers that compete on paralympic and elite levels.

The Angus Sports Awards selection panel will meet to finalise short lists and winners for each award category and these will be announced at the awards ceremony. All nominees and nominators have been invited to attend the ceremony that is hosted and broadcast by Radio Tay. Guests will then enjoy a three-course meal following the presentations.
Angus Provost Ruth J Leslie Melville said "The Angus Sports Awards are a fantastic opportunity for the whole Angus community to offer congratulations to all of the performers, coaches, administrators, officials, helpers and volunteers who have represented the county so positively in the sporting environment throughout 2008. We hope as many people as possible attend the awards ceremony, which is always an enjoyable event."
The Angus Sports Awards 2008 ceremony will take place on Tuesday 10th March 2009, 6.30 for 7.00pm at the Reid Hall, Forfar and tickets costing £10 are now available and will be issued on first come first served basis. Come along and show your support to our Angus sporting achievers of 2008.
