Angus Council Sports Development Team are calling on the local Angus community to turn out in force and celebrate the sporting stars of Angus as they step into the spotlight for their annual sports awards ceremony. The Angus Sports Awards 2011 in association with Angus Ahead is taking place at the Reid Hall, Forfar on Tuesday 6 March 2012 - 6.15pm for 7.00pm and tickets go on general sale from Monday 20 February 2012.

Angus Council Sports Development is honouring the commitment, achievements and dedication of individuals and teams involved in sport across Angus during 2011. The ceremony is presented by Angus Council Sports Development Team in association Angus Ahead, the areas marketing campaign set up to fly the flag for the county at home and abroad.

The Roll of Honour for the Angus Sports Awards 2011 is as follows:

The Angus Sports Awards 2011 selection panel will meet to finalise short lists and winners for each award category and these will be announced at the awards ceremony. All nominees and nominators have been invited to attend the ceremony that is hosted and broadcast by Radio Tay.

Event organisers are delighted to announce that they have secured a special guest speaker for this year's awards in home grown Modern Pentathlete, Louise Helyer and guests will also enjoy a three-course meal following the presentations.

The Angus Sports Awards 2011 ceremony will take place on Tuesday 6 March 2012, 6.15pm for 7.00pm at the Reid Hall, Forfar and tickets costing £12 will go on general sale on Monday 20 February 2012 and will be issued on first come first served basis.
