Sports Development Team

Angus Council Sports Development Team provide support and advice to individuals, clubs, sports associations or groups on a range of issues. They also establish and co-ordinate a number of opportunities linking local, regional and national programmes in a variety of sports.

The Sports Development Team endeavour to provide opportunities to further develop the sporting and physical activity levels of many different groups across the county.

Our focus areas include:

Sports Development in a range of sports and physical activities,
Club Development,
National Athlete Support,
Coach Support,
Football Development,
Disability Sport and
Rugby Development.

Working with a number of local, regional and national sports partners we organise and establish several initiatives designed to encourage and increase sports and physical activity levels and also provide an effective 'player pathway' for potential elite performers.

Angus Sports Awards 2011

Searching for Angus Sports Stars!!

Angus Council Sports Development Team are looking for the County's sporting stars to step into the spotlight at their annual sports awards ceremony taking place in March this year. Nomination forms are available now with athletes, players, coaches, friends and family encouraged to submit forms for consideration by the selection panel.

Angus Fun in Athletics programme

Angus Council Sports Development Team has hosted 6 Fun in Athletics festivals across Angus during November 2011, as part of a National programme. The six winning teams from the North & South Angus Heats will now come together at Lochside Leisure Centre, Forfar on Wednesday 7th December 2011 to contest the Fun in Athletics - Angus Final 2011.

TESCO Bank Football Challenge

Children from six local primary schools across the Angus area had an amazing morning of football and fun at Tesco Bank Football Challenge Festivals on Thursday (27th October) at Forfar Farmington FC's Market Muir ground and at Brechin Leisure Centre on Friday (28th October) organised by Angus Council's Sports Development Team.
