Community Safety Views Sought
Community safety is recognised as an important issue for Angus people, and their opinions on the topic are now being sought.
Angus Council, Tayside Police and Tayside Fire Brigade have joined forces to gather local views on community safety to help identify future priorities in this area.
Residents can express their opinions on the subject in a number of ways - through membership of the Angus Citizens Panel, or by going on line and visiting the council's web site on www.angus.gov.uk, or the Young Scot site on www.youngscot.org.uk.
Community Safety not only covers crime, vandalism and anti-social behaviour, it also covers safety on the roads and in the home.
Surveys have already been sent out to the Angus Citizens' Panel and the Young Angus Citizens' Panel.
New members for these panels are always welcome and anyone wanting to volunteer can ring ACCESS Line on 08452 777 778.
The results of the surveys should be available early in 2004 and be used to address community safety issues in the county.
