New Road to Business Success
Angus Council is developing a new access road at Brechin Business Park to open up six new plots for development.
Plots from one third of an acre up to one acre in size will be made available by the new road, allowing smaller businesses the chance to locate at the Business Park. The total cost of the project is around £100,000 for the 100 metres of road.
The main contractor is Tayside Contracts with Brechin-based Delson Contracts, who originally built the Business Park for the council in 1999, sub-contractor for civil engineering. Work is expected to be finished by the end of March.
Councillor David Selfridge, Angus Council's Convener of Infrastructure Services said:
"Angus Council's commitment to the development of first-class business opportunities for the Brechin area is underlined by the construction of this new road. This new access will offer smaller local and incoming firms the opportunity to locate on the strategically located and environmentally friendly development that is Brechin Business Park. The council's investment here is designed to provide an attractive environment for business growth and the resulting job opportunities."
Brechin Business Park now has six buildings complete on the prestige gateway site - Angus Digital Media Centre, Edzell Engineering, Rutland Electric Fencing, Alba Pools, Black's of Brechin, and an advance unit that the council is promoting for use as a customer contract centre.
