Further Consultation on Forfar School Site

A further consultation exercise relating to school sites and catchment areas in Forfar is to take place.

The multi-million pound project, which will provide youngsters in the burgh with new and improved primary schools, has already been the subject of extensive consultation with parents, pupils, staff and school communities in the town.

Following this consultation, the council has agreed to take forward plans to provide new facilities on the sites of the current Langlands and Kirkriggs primary schools.

The council has been searching for a site for a third school, and following extensive investigations has now identified a site at Whitehills Nursery.

This has also introduced another option to the proposed delineated areas, which will also be the subject of this latest consultation.

Local people are being urged to give their views on the proposed site for the third primary school. Parents/Carers have been formally notified of the proposals and asked to complete and return a questionnaire. A public meeting is also planned for Tuesday 7 September 2004 in Langlands Primary School and council representatives will attend the meeting to answer any questions.

Full details of the proposals are available on the council's website at, where a form for comment is available on-line.
