Trading Standards Warning For Residents
Local people are being urged to be on their guard against the latest telephone sales sting.
Angus Council's trading standards officers are warning residents to beware of calls from companies asking about health issues and diets.
The caller then arranges a home visit, where the salesperson tries to sell an adjustable bed or an electrical massage pad for a large amount of money.
The advice to householders from trading standards is to deal only with known traders who have been recommended by family or friends.
Any member of the public who has been approached in this manner, or has any concerns about this issue, is advised to Angus Council's trading standards service on (01241) 435600 or Tayside Police crime reduction officer on (01307) 303937.
