Angus Club Excellence Gold Award

Issued: 1 August 2007

Montrose Youth Football Club Achieve Gold ACE Award

Congratulations to Montrose Youth Football Club for gaining the Gold Angus Club Excellence award. This achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of the club volunteers and demonstrates that they are committed to providing a safe, effective and child-friendly club environment.

Furthermore, the club are also looking to work towards the Scottish Football Associations Quality Mark award which focuses on the club's infrastructure as well as specific football related targets. The work undertaken for the ACE Gold award should hopefully see the club achieving Quality Mark sooner rather than later.

The Montrose Youth Football Club is the 35th club to achieve an ACE award from the Angus Sports Development Team, which demonstrates the high level of commitment to the provision of quality sporting opportunities in child-friendly environments shown by sports clubs in Angus.

Development officer Lee McLean said "It is important that clubs comply with all the legislation to ensure the safety and wellbeing of their members. Gaining the ACE Gold Award indicates that Montrose Youth Football Club is making sure this happens. I am delighted that the club now have this award and will continue to provide an excellent opportunity for the local youngsters to participate in football."
