Festive Car Parking

Christmas shoppers in Angus can enjoy free car parking but motorists are reminded that there are parking restrictions in the county’s car parks.

The maximum length of stay allowed at the council’s ten short stay car parks is two hours, and this remains in operation and will be enforced during the festive period.

Council staff will be out and about checking car parks and the penalty charges for exceeding the time limit are £6, up to an extra hour, rising to £30 for more than one hour.

Motorists are also reminded that it is an offence to park outside marked bays or in disabled bays, the latter being reserved for blue badge holders only. These rules too will be enforced as normal over the coming weeks, with a penalty charge of £30 being issued for these offences.

The ten short-stay car parks in Angus are at: North Port and West Abbey Street, Arbroath; Church Street, Market Street and Maisondieu Lane East, Brechin; High Street, Carnoustie; Green Street, Forfar; Glengate and Reform Street, Kirriemuir; and Baltic Street, Montrose.
