ANGUS 4 COMMUNITY WEBSITE RELAUNCHED

THE website offering voluntary and community advice on funding was relaunched this afternoon (Tuesday 1 July)

Officially relaunching the site Provost of Angus Ruth Leslie Melville said www.angus4community.com had proved to be a valuable resource for local community groups.

“Finding funding is a constant battle for many community groups so this easy to use website has been a vital source of information for them.

“The site has over 400 regular users and has attracted over 200,000 hits with people finding out more about local, UK and European funding.

“It is obviously a resource valued by voluntary and community organisations so the partners who provide the funding for the website had no hesitation in reinvesting in it, guaranteeing its continuation for the next three years.”

The site has been awarded funding of £3000 from the Angus Community Planning Partnership with Angus Council providing further core funding of almost £7500.

The site is an online resource of grant schemes and trust funds which allows voluntary and community sectors to access and search a comprehensive funding database. Users can explore sources of cash from thousands of charitable trusts as well as the National Lottery and review case studies of successful funding applicants.

At the launch, at the at the Community and Learning Centre at Angus College, were representatives from voluntary and community groups, the council, community planning partners and community councils.
