Outdoor Angus In Good Shape
Angus Council is to continue its investment in outdoor activities in the county.
Speaking at the council's Infrastructure Services Committee (Tuesday 26 August) Convener David May said the county was well placed to capitalise on the growth in outdoor activity holidays.
"We already have well developed marketing campaigns and events for golf, walking and angling which are helping to put Angus in a strong position in the extremely popular but competitive outdoor pursuits market.
"Outdoor activities are a key strand of Angus' tourism portfolio so it is important that we direct resources to support this sector to ensure that this development continues.
"The promotion and support of Outdoor Angus, a private sector led organisation, and continued investment in the infrastructure required, will help us achieve that."
The council has committed to the provision of a comprehensive e-marketing campaign through Angusahead.com, the web portal for the county, which will also host a new dynamic outdoor activity section under the Outdoor Angus brand. This will be supported by a number of key activities including assistance with the production of an Outdoor Angus marketing brochure."
