Angus Design Awards Scheme 2008

Entries are now being accepted for the 2008 Angus Design Awards Scheme, run every two years by Angus Council. The scheme aims to promote and recognise good building design and repair and is administered by Angus Council planning & transport division.

The awards are open to all categories of design in both urban and rural areas, from new build projects to extensions and conversions of existing buildings, shopfront alterations and traditional craft work such as slater work and exterior joinery work.

To be eligible for the 2008 Awards Scheme, the work must have been completed between 1 September 2006 and 31 August 2008.

Any individual or any organisation can submit an application, even if they are not the owner, designer or contractor of the project. If the applicant does not own the building, the owner's written consent must be obtained before the application is submitted.

Applications for the 2008 Awards should be submitted by 10 October 2008.

The judging panel will consist of experts from the field of architecture and a representative of the community. Judging will be independent of Angus Council.

An awards ceremony for the winners will be held early in 2009 followed by a public exhibition of entries held shortly after the awards ceremony.
