Angus Artist's Work To Be Displayed At Arbroath Library
Carnoustie artist Peter Flynn's exhibition of paintings on show at Arbroath Library's gallery from18 October is entitled 'Mementoes'. His vivid and colourful work is inspired by thoughts, feelings and sights encountered during travel around Europe and Australia and reflects memories of time and place.
These experiences, coupled with memories and snapshots of times spent in the company of his friends and family closer to home, have brought colour and texture to Peter's work. His intention is to convey the many emotions involved in the journey of life.
The work in this exhibition represents a new direction for Peter into a more abstract style, and an introduction of more colour into his work - the consequence of his extensive travel.
Peter studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, gaining his DA in 1979. He has won many scholarships and prizes during his career and has exhibited extensively throughout Scotland and beyond.
This display of rich and vibrant artworks opens at Arbroath Library on Saturday 18 October and runs until Saturday 15 November, and is guaranteed to bring a little colour to the dullest autumn day. The exhibition can be viewed during library hours and admission is free.
