Councils, Scottish Enterprise And Chamber Of Commerce Unite Behind Local Manufacturers
Local manufacturing businesses are coming together to share their experience of reducing costs and to pass on practical tips to each other to help boost productivity and profitability.
The 'Full Monty' seminar at Carnoustie Golf Hotel on Tuesday 21 October has been jointly organised by Angus Council, Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce, Scottish Enterprise, Dundee City Council and the Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service (SMAS).
Gordon Bell from SMAS said "The future of manufacturing and engineering are vital to the ongoing economic success of the Tayside economy.
"In this difficult financial climate it is more important than ever that we share our experience and help local businesses to support each other. This best practice seminar is designed to achieve just such an outcome."
The seminar will include a case study presented by Kanthal Ltd, who manufacture a wide range of heating elements for industrial furnaces from their plant at Inveralmond, Perth.
Local manufacturing companies who would like sign up for the free seminar should contact Karolina Zimniak at Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce on 01382 228 545.
