Mobile Library Consultation Set To Start

Angus Council is developing an updated mobile service for rural areas and is seeking the opinions of local people on the proposed route and timetable. People will also be asked which additional features and service information would be useful on the vans.

Vehicle 1 will include an updated mobile library service and additional facilities, including IT. As a result, this vehicle is larger than the existing mobile library vehicles. Vehicle 2 will be smaller than Vehicle 1, incorporating an updated mobile library service and IT provision.

A smaller, third vehicle will also be purchased for book deliveries, for those who have difficulties accessing library services.

If the procurement process is completed successfully, and the necessary external finance is gained, the new service should be in place for July-August 2011.

If external funding is not forthcoming, or a contract cannot be agreed, the proposals will have to be reviewed, so this date may be extended.

The consultations will take place on the following times and dates: please note change of times for Newtyle and Birkhill on Thursday 4 November
