Curriculum Challenge Being Met In Angus
Angus schools are meeting the challenge of a reformed school curriculum.
A report before a meeting of the authority’s Education Committee on Thursday 2 June, outlined the progress being made in the county since the curriculum for excellence was introduced in August last year.
The new curriculum sets out to improve how rather than what pupils learn, and to develop skills for learning, life and work.
Education convener Peter Nield commented: “Angus schools have responded well to the training, resources, networking opportunities and practical advice provided by the education authority in preparing for the introduction of curriculum for excellence.
“While there are continuing challenges to be addressed, Angus schools are well placed to meet those challenges and deliver the ambitions of curriculum for excellence.”
