National Reading Group Day
Readers from all over the county are invited to celebrate the second annual National Reading Group Day with Angus libraries at a special event on Saturday 30 June 2012 in Montrose Library.
Guest author, Chris Longmuir, will speak about her best-selling Dundee crime novel Dead Wood and her experiences as a publisher of e-books via Amazon.
Chris, a former winner of the Dundee International Book Prize, is a member of the Crime Writers Association and a popular speaker at writers’ events and festivals all over the country.
The Angus event is free and is open to members from all reading groups in Angus and runs from 2pm and 4pm. People from groups who do not meet in libraries and readers looking to join a group will be made especially welcome.
To book a place at the event, please contact any Angus Library.
UK readers enjoy a tremendous amount of reading group activity all over the country. There are over 10,000 reading groups linked to libraries in the UK and reading groups are also taking place in workplaces, hospitals and schools.
Every library in Angus runs at least one Reading Group. National Reading Group Day hopes to raise the profile of libraries within our communities by promoting stronger links with reading groups.
