Kirriemuir Regeneration Meeting

A meeting will be held on 8 August to allow members of the public to hear more about the bid to regenerate Kirriemuir.

Angus Council's Infrastructure Services committee gave approval for the preparation of the Kirriemuir Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme (CARS) bid on 14 June 2012, and this meeting provides an opportunity for those who are interested in this proposal to learn more and to ask any questions regarding the preparation of the bid. If successful, the bid could provide opportunities, particularly for those properties and businesses within the town centre.

The meeting, to be held at Kirriemuir Fire Station at 6pm on Wednesday 8 August will be chaired by Roy Madden, natural & built environment manager of Angus Council's planning & transport division. All interested are asked to attend, as strong community support is required for the bid.

The local community planning team will display the results of a recent engagement exercise involving a photography competition organised by pupils from Webster’s High School concerning their perceptions of Kirriemuir. The photographs will be on display and those in attendance will be asked for their opinions.

For further information regarding the meeting, contact Kirsty Macari, planning officer (conservation)
