Angus Gardeners Praised At Awards Ceremony
There was praise for high standard of entries for the 2012 Angus Council garden awards ceremony held in Forfar on Friday 3 August.
Vice-Convener of Neighbour Services, Councillor Jeanette Gaul said:
“It has been very difficult for the judges to select the winners because of the very high standard of entries, despite the poor weather we have had this spring and summer. I commend and congratulate not only the worthy winners in the various categories, but also thank everyone who has entered for the awards and put the necessary time and energy into their garden.
“Angus is a beautiful area in which to live and work, and the lovely gardens, both large and small, in our towns and villages enhance the attraction of the county for residents and visitors alike.”
Guest speaker at the awards was Gordon Croall, formerly of the Beechgrove Garden TV programme and now of Dundee College horticultural department. He gave a short talk and answered questions.
