Angus Senior Athletes In Olympic-style Events!
The spirit of Olympic Games has spread throughout the whole nation including to the Angus Council care centres where various Olympic-style events have been taking place.
These older people at St Drostans House, Brechin; Seaton Grove, Arbroath; Beech Hill House, Forfar and Camus House, Carnoustie have really been going for gold in events such as wellie throwing, inflatable hammer throwing, discus, basketball, 20 yard race, hoopla, egg and spoon race, shot put, gymnastic ribbon dancing and blow football.
Participants adopted the costumes and flags of their chosen Olympic countries and each participant will be receiving certificates and medals. The events have really brought out their competitive spirit, showing that even in their nineties, our Angus senior athletes haven’t lost their enjoyment of sports.
