Sealed Knot Re-enactment Society at Montrose Museum

Meet the soldiers of James Graham, 1st Marquis of Montrose, during a day of talks and presentations by the Sealed Knot Society at Montrose Museum this Saturday (1 September).

In the morning from 11am, youngsters aged eight to 12 years can find out about one of Scotland's most famous Generals from his own soldiers. They can see the weapons they would have used and have the chance to dress up as a covenanting soldier.

During the afternoon session for adults at 2pm, the Sealed Knot Society will tell the fascinating story of The Covenant and Scottish Revolution and James Graham's relationship with the Royalist Marquis of Huntly. There will also be the opportunity to examine period weapons.

Admission is free but booking is advisable. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Call the museum on 01674 673232 or email montrose.museum@angus.gov.uk.
