Summer Of Sport Draws To A Close
Enjoyed a summer of spectacular sporting achievements?
There is still time to visit the Gateway to the Glens museum and view an exhibition, highlighting the amazing Olympic achievements of local athletes, which finishes on Saturday 22 September.
The exhibition features achievements from those of John ‘Suttie’ Smith, a self-coached runner in the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics, to Sue Fraser, part of the GB Hockey team who won a Bronze medal in the 1992 Barcelona Games. The exhibition displays this medal as well as photographs and equipment from a variety of sports.
