Actors’ Success Recognised

Actors and directors who staged a drama in April promoting the ‘safe and sound’ message for Angus residents were thanked at an event in Forfar today, Wednesday 5 September.

The successful drama event, which was a first for Angus, consisted of four scenarios relating to safety which were acted out by adults with learning disabilities, and members of the Angus Gold forum. The event was recorded and a dvd produced.

Presenting the actors and directors with copies of the dvd at the Canmore Rooms today, Margaret Wells, Independent Chair of the Angus Adult Protection Committee said:

“It is very important for everyone to know how to keep safe and well. This dvd will highlight many of the issues we all need to be aware of, including how to deal with bogus callers, preventing falls and getting the right help when we ourselves, or someone we know, is at risk of harm.”

She added: “Great interest has been shown in this work by other local authority areas and individual organisations and it is all credit to our actors and directors that this has been so successful.”

If you live in Angus and would like a copy of the dvd, which highlights aspects of home and personal safety, then contact the council’s ACCESSLine on 08452 777 778.
