Clubgolf Festival In Carnoustie
Angus Council Sports Development Team in partnership with Angus Active Schools hosted a Clubgolf festival at Carnoustie Leisure Centre today, Wednesday 24 October 2012.
The festival involved P5 boys and girls from Monikie, Newbigging and Burnside Primary Schools, and saw around 80 children take part in a series of golf based drills and games.
Clubgolf is a national programme delivering golf locally through a partnership involving Angus Council Sports Development Team, Education Department, Active Schools and local golf professionals, and involving large groups of youngsters.
The festival was all about participation and fun, with eight activity stations allowing the children to experience all the different aspects of golf. Senior pupils from Carnoustie High School, who are completing their Level 2 sports leader award, were on hand to help the children as was golf professional, Nikki Christie of Carnoustie Golf Links.
Boys and girls aged 5-12 years can participate in a multi-sport class including Clubgolf activity at Carnoustie Leisure Centre on Monday evenings from 5pm-6pm. For more information or to book a place on this session contact the leisure centre on 01241 853246.
