Brechin Homes Improvement Boost

Over 100 council homes in Brechin are set for a major facelift in a £420,000 project.

The council has awarded a tender for the replacement of windows and doors to 121 houses in the River Street and Nursery Park area of the burgh.

The work will see new timber double glazed windows and doors being installed in the houses.

In addition kitchen and bathroom fans will be installed and insulation replaced in roofspaces.

Angus Convener of Housing Frank Ellis commented:

"This again illustrates the commitment Angus Council has to investing and maintaining its public sector housing stock in Brechin and throughout Angus. As well as the improvement to their surroundings, residents will benefit from more disposable income as they save on heating bills."

The work will be carried out by Dundee-based Muirfield Contracts.
