Dunhill Cup - Traffic Arrangements
THE Dunhill Cup comes to Carnoustie's Championship Links next week and to ensure that traffic flows freely in both Monifieth and Carnoustie, Angus Council is introducing some temporary traffic restrictions.
Residents in affected streets have been sent a letter informing them of the changes being introduced and the full plans can be viewed at the ACCESS and libraries in both Carnoustie and Monifieth.
The restrictions are necessary to ensure there is an easy flow of traffic in both towns not only for golf traffic but also for people in the towns and the emergency services.
The traffic restrictions are as follows: -Temporary prohibition of driving from 7am Monday 15 - midnight on Sunday 21 October.
Links Parade from its junction with Links Avenue westwards for a distance of 220 metres, up to car park at Burnside Golf Course (exemptions for residents access and emergency vehicles).
Temporary one-way traffic from 7am Wednesday 17 - midnight Sunday 21 October.
Ferrier Street, southwards between Dundee Street and Links Parade.
Taymouth Street, westwards between Ferrier Street and Links Avenue.
Links Avenue, northwards between Links Parade and Dundee Street.

No formal traffic order is to be promoted but Tayside Police will be placing cones on the main entry and exit routes as well as the emergency routes to ensure free access and egress of traffic at the peak times.
The areas affected are:
